Our Programs

PreSchool

In a world that often seems to move too quickly, we endeavor to preserve a more natural pace. At the Mary Elizabeth Farm School social and emotional growth are valued. The program blends teacher driven, developmentally appropriate learning activities, with student-centric, unstructured or imaginative exploration. The carefully designed physical environment and the surrounding natural environment provides abundant opportunities for creativity, independence, and impactful peer interaction.

We believe children learn best through play and we provide opportunities for children to explore their natural environment frequently throughout their daily schedule. Mary Elizabeth teachers skillfully balance helping students learn to follow directions, while simultaneously fostering independence and choice.

7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

After School

Afterschool on the Farm is open to children K-6th grade.  Our calendar follows the Lamoille North Supervisory Union academic calendar.  Children who attend Cambridge Elementary School have the convenience of riding the bus to the farm after school, while others may be dropped off.  Afterschool runs from 3-5 PM.

Each afternoon begins with a snack and tea.  Families are responsible for their child’s healthy snack each day. From then on, days unfold according to whims and weather.  The Farm is a place where everything from rainy day art to snowy day sledding and of course (it’s Vt), mucky days mucking, happen.  We make fires, pick apples, boil sap, dig clay from the river, and visit with animals - things that balance out a day in the classroom.

3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
